Stand for Righteousness

2008 July 21

This morning I received a disturbing email from a friend and fellow servant.  Apparently, the next thing on the agenda of homosexual activists is to get the “Employment Non-Discrimination Act” or “EDNA” passed in the Senate.  If this passes the Senate, you won’t be allowed to have a bible at work if a homosexual is there. In addition, all of our private schools will be subject to the forced hiring of homosexual, transgenders. THIS IS A FEDERAL THING, NOT JUST FOR CALIFORNIA.

This stuff really gets to me because not only is it wicked, but the people who think these things up apparently don’t use their heads.  They are saying that they don’t want us to have our Bibles around them, but they can force their homosexual nonsense on us as they will.  Give me a break!  This is absolutely ridiculous.

I am dead serious when I say this:  We as Christians need to unite and do something about this.  Not only this, but every other agenda that is upon us today.  We cannot be silent on these issues brethren.  If we do, we are condoning what they do.  Some might say…  “God’s word plainly says that these types of things are going to happen, so there’s nothing we can do about it.”  — This is just a cop out.  I agree that things are destined to get worse but that doesn’t mean that we just sit back and be closet Christians when it comes to taking a stand for righteousness and truth.  Please read the following and call or write to your Senator today.  If this doesn’t bother you and you call yourself a Christian there’s something wrong.

ENDA – The Employment Non-Discrimination Act

Call and/or write your respective State Senator today. Urge them to oppose
legislation such as the Employment Non-Discrimination Act (ENDA) that misuses
federal power to trample the speech and religious liberties of employees and businesses.

We face an urgent challenge defending our values and religious freedom. The reason:
The Senate could soon attempt to pass a bill that will give homosexuals special rights in
the workplace – and take away your rights.

This dangerous bill is called the Employment Non-Discrimination Act (ENDA). If it
becomes law, it will dramatically empower the federal government to force you, whether
you like it or not, to accept homosexuality as normal and even good…or face severe
consequences. It is a nightmare, especially for people of faith.
ENDA puts the muscle of Washington behind a scheme to allow homosexual activists to
bully their way into your life.

For instance:
• Homosexuals would have the backing of the federal government to force your
child’s private school to hire them, and the government could even investigate
what the school teaches.
• Keeping a Bible on your desk at work or displaying scriptures could be grounds
for a federal sexual harassment complaint that could get you punished – even
fired!
• You could be sued in federal court by a homosexual – even if you know nothing
about his or her sexual orientation – simply by claiming you perceived that he or
she is a homosexual.

How could ENDA change America forever?
Ask John and Elaine Huguenin of Elane Photography of Albuquerque, New Mexico.
John and Elaine were slammed with a fine of $6,637 because this Christian couple, co-owners
of their own business, politely declined to take “commitment ceremony” photos
of two lesbians.
One of the two lesbians is an activist who filed a complaint under New Mexico’s state
ENDA law. The New Mexico Civil Rights Commission, chaired by another pro-homosexual
activist, dealt a crippling blow to the Huguenin’s modest business simply
because they stood for their faith.

If the federal ENDA law passes, what happened to the Huguenins could happen to
anyone of faith, anywhere. And that is just the beginning…
Rolf Szabo’s case is also deeply troubling. This Christian millwright was fired by Kodak
after 23 years of faithful service because he declined to participate in Kodak’s “Coming
Out Day” celebrating homosexual, bisexual, and transgender employees.
Rolf was ordered to publicly apologize and submit to re-education “diversity training.”
He said he could not, in good conscience, do so. He was swiftly and coldly terminated.

If the federal ENDA law passes, every company in every state in America with more than
fifteen employees will be forced to set up similar rules to force employees like Rolf to
embrace homosexual behavior as normal and worthy of celebration, or risk harsh federal
sanctions.
Ask the Christian employees of Sandia National Laboratories! Their employer ordered
them to take down Bible verses and any religious content from screensavers and
employee bulletin boards – and even remove photos of their family because homosexual
employees found the “traditional family” images to be threatening and demeaning!
Churches, Christian-owned businesses, organizations, and Christian schools are also
threatened. ENDA provides only limited protection of religious institutions, and even
these limitations could be destroyed by follow-up laws.
• There would be no protection for church staff beyond pastors or priests.
Homosexuals could apply for other church positions, and if rejected due to
“perceived” bias, the federal government would, in effect, become their lawyer to
punish your church with an expensive court battle.
• Church schools could be forced to hire homosexuals for teaching positions.
Curriculum could also be open to inspection for “hurtful” material.
• Employers, who are “perceived” to have refused to hire or promote an individual
because of his or her sexual behavior, will have to prove their innocence.
Homosexual activists will have the cooperation of the federal government in what
could be nothing more than harassment of Christian or conservative businesses.
Why this bitter persecution? The answer goes beyond the workplace to encompass all of
life and the future of America. The goal of the radicals is to have no sexual boundaries.
Their vision of America is to have a place where there is no room for “obsolete”
Christian morality.

Please spread the word…

You’ve managed to completely misrepresent what Sandia required of their employees; that all employees respect everyone, regardless of faith or personal orientation.

It had NOTHING to do with sexual orientation but EVERYTHING to do with the sense of entitlement that a few so-called Christians feel in foisting their views upon an uninterested public.

    Way to go.

So having pictures of their families posted is “foisting their views upon an uninterested public”? Come on Lynn. The whole point of this post is to point out that the homosexual agenda is imposing their lifestyle on the majority of the country, forcing people of faith to “put it away” or be punished.
